'Indian Abacus-Digital' and Manual Abacus - a Comparison

1. Colour of Frame:

Indian Abacus-Digital :

Light cream colour acts as the best background for the colour images of the value positions - Green (lower sliders) and Red (Upper sliders). Light cream colour is very friendly to the eyes of the present invention

Conventional (Manual)   Abacus

The colour of the Frame (black) and the beads are darkishBrown and contrast back ground needs vast improvement to give better visualization of objects

2 Slots / Rods :

Indian Abacus-Digital :

The slots in which the sliders move are having an ideal fit and the slider movement is very smooth and continuous of the present invention.

Conventional (Manual)   Abacus

The rods and beads have play due to imperfect fit. The movement therefore is not comfortable and the beads do not stay in a position.

3.Sliders / Beads:

Sliders are chosen to hide and unhide the value positions, displayed through the colour (Red and Green) images.Visualization / Photographic memory 100% possible at its best of the present invention.

Conventional (Manual)   Abacus

Beads and background are of constant colours(Brown and Black) and there is no differentiation, which is the biggest weak point in this version of manual abacus.

4.Stress:

Indian Abacus-Digital :

The images are of bright and contrast colours. There is absolutely no confusion and the stress level is nil of the present invention.

Conventional (Manual)   Abacus

The Frame and images - No contrast colour- there is confusion ,Imaging / visualization not so strong and stress to eyes noticed.

Indian Abacus-Digital :

The present invention of Indian Abacus-Digital has two additional features built into it, owing to the objective of the inventor to enable the tool to have online access to the destined website / internet offering Abacus based skills through its package of Learn-practice-test modules.The tool has an interface with the PC. The hardware & software , built in the tool as an adjunct to the physically operable tool, helps the student of abacus, wanting to learn-practice-test the Abacus skills online by accessing the dedicated website, to opt for it and successfully employ to learn-practice-test the skills online. The tool offline also displays the output of the working on the Indian Abacus by the student. The answers/the output of the working are displayed on the screenof the present invention.

Conventional Abacus

The Abacus basically a generic one with the facility to work only manually with the limited scope for visualization as mentioned above. The ubiquitous nature of the Indian Abacus - Digital is totally lacking.
